Hey! Welcome to my blog.
I'm Nancy Kama, a student at Westview High School. I was born in India, but my dad got a job in San Diego, so we moved here shortly after. I am the oldest of three, and love to spend time with my siblings, whether it is playing badminton, having movie marathons, or painting with my sister.

I am starting this blog because I want to advocate for kids and adolescents whose developmental health issues are being dismissed due either to ignorance or misdiagnosis. I grew up in a community who are quick to disregard seemingly indisputable health issues. There is a belief that mental or physical impediments their children face are a threat to their normality and can be disciplined or coddled out of them.
Fortunately, I had the opportunity to learn about the real biological reasons for these obstacles in psychology and biology classes, and I think everyone needs to be educated on the concepts before spreading the toxic misinformation that a child’s ability to have a prosperous life is threatened by developmental challenges.

In this blog I will be sharing my research on the biological and psychological factors for cognitive and behavioral issues. I hope to provide a deeper understanding of the obstacles that hinder healthy child development, and the variety of modern treatments to prevent or alleviate these impediments. My ultimate goal is to change a common misconception that mental and physical health disorders are a myth.
